Ever wondered how yarn is made? This class will teach you the quick and easy basics of spinning your own yarn! All you need is your hands, a drop spindle, and a bit of fluff and you’re well on your way. You’ll leave the class with a single ply length of yarn and the skills you need to continue spinning at home or at our monthly Spinning Circle.
Each student will be offered the use of a drop spindle, but only for the duration of the class. If you want to keep your first yarn on the spindle and continue making it, we recommend you purchase a drop spindle before class (you'll receive a 10% discount in the shop), or bring one with you from home. The class fee includes 1 ounce of beautiful Rambouillet wool.
This is a one day class.
Skill Level Required: This is an absolute beginner-level one day class. No prior experience is needed. This class is for ages 10 and up.

Teacher Bio: Hello fellow yarn lovers! My name is Melinda and first and foremost, I am a mother of two beautiful children. I also happen to be a spinner, weaver, and knitter. I was eight months pregnant when I started with my first love, spinning and would rock my daughter to sleep through the rhythm of my spinning motion. She is now a lovely 16 year old who also has inherited a love for fiber. My son can't remember a day in his life when he didn't receive a pair of hand knit socks and enjoys wearing handmade items. I have a cat named Pepsi and a dog named Artemis. I'm a therapist by day and enjoy helping people make positive change in their life. I love passing on my knowledge to others. Cancellation Policy If for whatever reason you want to withdraw from a class, please do so at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time of the class for a full refund. No-shows and cancellations less than 48 hours in advance of the class start time are not eligible for a refund. Please respect the teacher and your fellow students by not attending class if you are feeling sick or have had a known recent Covid exposure, even if it is within the 48-hour non-refundable window.
